So I’ve collaborated with both brands to share my Italian designer inspired manicure using classic nail polish colors black, red, and gold, to create a fun new spin on a classic look. You know I’m obsessed with all things fashion, so it was a fun challenge!
I LOVE Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs for makeup application AND for cleaning up little messes when painting my nails. They’re pointed so I simply dip them in some nail polish remover and run them along the edges of my nails. But they’re also great in assisting in nail art designs like the one I’ve created here. I always finish with lotion so my hands don’t look flaky or dry in photos for my blog AND in real life. And now that we live in a much dryer location, every day body and hand lotion are a MUST! {The husband loves Suave® Skin Solutions as well!}
So inspired by my favorite designers at the moment {as you may have noticed in my recent DIY posts} I loved the idea of pairing black, red, and a bit of gold for this fun and festive galaxy manicure.
What You’ll Need…
* Black, rich red, and gold chunky glitter nail polishes, and a great top coat.
* Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs
* Suave® Skin Solutions Body Lotions
Steps…
* Apply one coat of black polish to all nails and let dry. Then, one nail at a time, apply another coat of black polish…
* While it’s still wet, using your Q-tips® Precision Tips™, carefully swab out a half-moon section at your cuticle. This step is crucial so your polish isn’t too thick at the base.
* Fill it in {messily} with your rich red polish…
* While your red is still wet, add your chunky gold glitter, pulling your red up into the black to create a bleeding ombre effect. Try to keep your gold at the base, and just pull it up so your entire nail isn’t covered in gold glitter {just the bottom half with upward movement}. Your tips should all remain black {though it’s more difficult on shorter nails to accomplish this}.
* This step I do after each and every manicure… Dip your Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs into your remover and clean up the skin around your nail beds {nobody’s perfect!}
* Apply your top coat and…
* Finish with Suave® Skin Solutions Smoothing Body Lotion with Cocoa Butter & Shea {my favorite} for a smooth and flawless finish.
Voila… Voila!
