Are You Playing Covet Fashion? It’s an App & it’s Really Fun!

My husband keeps urging me to play more games. I know that sounds silly, but he thinks it’s a great way to take my mind off of reality {and loosen up} and I argue that it’s a waste of time {clearly I need to loosen up}. To be honest though, I don’t find many games that I actually WANT to spend time playing. So when I was asked to review this new styling app, COVET Fashion, I agreed, thinking maybe it would be the kind of distraction I could really get into. And I’m not gonna lie, it’s really fun!

While it’s not really a game, per se, it’s fun like a game and is interactive as well. You begin by shopping and building your wardrobe and then enter fashion challenges; events to join where you style your own looks to win prizes and earn more virtual money to shop with! I was a little confused at first by the diamonds, tickets, and premium shops, {which you can see along the top of my account below} but once I played for a while, it all made sense.

I “liked” all my own looks, lol!

Not only is it fun to virtual shop all the latest trends by brands like BCBG, French Connection, Joie, Rachel Zoe, and Rebecca Minkoff, there’s a link from the virtual pieces that will take you to the actual piece to buy if you want it for yourself in real life. It’s a fun way to see what’s available in stores by playing this virtual styling game vs actually shopping online.

Options to change your model’s hair, makeup, skin color, as well as their ensembles, make it completely customizable and it’s fun and even challenging sometimes to match the mood with hair/makeup.

You gain tickets by voting on other stylist’s looks and use those tickets to enter more events. Creating looks for events is far better than just creating looks to have not only because you get themes to follow but because you gain virtual money, prizes, tickets, and likes by entering the contests. I also like browsing other players’ looks as another way of shopping and finding items I’d like to add to my own closet.

Overall, the game/app is kind of a cross between being a virtual stylist, having a dream closet full of your favorite designer items, like DANNIJO jewels for instance, which are a fortune to buy in real life, and playing with virtual paper dolls. You gain followers and likes and you can also share your final looks on Facebook, compete with friends or simply upload them to Pinterest and Twitter as well.

Below are screencaps of the different looks I’ve created and entered into fashion challenges. Notice the names/titles of each… those are the actual challenges, and below each look are the items that are included in the look that are clickable to “shop” for yourself as well.
