Chatting Red Carpet Style with Designer Karen Zambos for Tide

A few weeks ago I made my first trip down the snowy mountain, back to sunny Los Angeles, to meet up with designer Karen Zambos. We met at her amazing design studio downtown in the Fashion District to chat about her newest collections and red carpet style. What’s incredibly awesome about getting to interview Karen now is that we both worked together at a little fashion hub boutique at Sunset Plaza in the late 90’s, which in those days was filled with the who’s who of Hollywood celebrities, AND their offspring, every day – all day long. I had such a blast catching up with Karen and reminiscing about our time spent together helping celebs shop, reliving memories, as well as the fun we had outside of work playing in Hollywood.

Karen worked as a buyer and creative stylist at an upscale boutique and quietly got her start as a designer by remodeling vintage clothes as well as beautifully dying vintage slips and selling her one-of-a-kind pieces in the boutique. And in the 16 years since the last time I saw her, Karen has created three amazing fashion lines: Karen Zambos Vintage Couture {a mix of bohemian and vintage inspired pieces that are TO DIE FOR}, Elegantly Waisted {a stunning belt collection} and Zambos and Siega {a fabulous handbag line}. Karen’s designs have been worn by many celebrities; check them out here.
