I love getting to review beauty products, because well, who wouldn’t? And along with being a major perk of being a fashion/beauty blogger, I fall in love with new products that I may not have had a chance to otherwise. AND THEN I get to share my fun finds with you 🙂
So recently and on behalf of ULTA Beauty I was sent the CoverGirl Flamed Out makeup collection. The CoverGirl Flamed Out products can be used to create the new Flaming Femme look, inspired by fire and ashes. P!NK represents the product line which I’ve seen {and you may have to} while flipping through my favorite magazines as of late.
The Products…
* Flamed OUt Mascara in black.
I’m super hard to please in the mascara department and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this product. My eyelashes are really straight, really short, and really light and obviously, my goal with mascara is to give the illusion that they are the exact opposite of the aforementioned.
The brush is hourglass shaped and holds a ton of mascara. I started with my bottom lashes and then went to the tops and was really happily surprised at how much thickness and volume it gave my lashes and even curved them up and winged them out as the product description said it would.
* Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Blazing White {350}, Molten Black {300}, and Red-Hot {345}
I love a smokey eye and it’s pretty much my go-to makeup look. I do it a bit more subtle in the day and lay it on thick at night. I was excited to see the black and white shadows but a little hesitant of the red hot pink since I usually offset my neutrals with more coppery tones, but really, this pink is fab. It’s crazy how these shadows are bold but still buildable without feeling like it’s ever too much. What I loved the most is that they didn’t flake off onto my cheek bones as I applied them.
* Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Gold Flame and Silver Flame
This pencil is a gel shadow and liner all in one and I LOVE IT. This was my favorite product of the bunch. Not only does it come in a handful of fun shades from bright to smokey, it goes on really smoothly, is creamy but stays in place, AND it feels really cool and refreshing when you apply it. Like a burst of cold air suddenly. It’s crazy fun!
I already use CoverGirl Perfect Blend Eye Liner {see it above? Their smudger tips are the softest and best for blending} and besides my foundation and eyelash curler, it was the only other product I used to create this makeup look.
The Application…
First I brushed on the Flamed Out Shadow Pot in RED HOT all over my lids. I layered it on a little heavier in the crease and around the edge, and swept it out and under my eye a bit as well.
Next I used the Flamed Out Shadow Pot in MOLTEN BLACK at the edge to create a winged out look as well as to create depth to my hooded lids. I also swept it along my bottom lash line.
Then I used the Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in SILVER FLAME as I would any eyeliner but created a thicker, smudgier line from the top middle of my eye and out, and along the bottom lash line as well.
Next I went in with a bit of my own black CG eyeliner really close to the lash line and up at the edge. I then curled my eyelashes with my shorty curler.
Then I grabbed the Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in GOLD FLAME and used it in the center/top of my lids for a highlight. I really loved this look.
I then brushed the Flamed Out Shadow Pot in BLAZING WHITE along the inner corners of my eyes and up/under my eyebrow to highlight my lids and soften the edges of the RED HOT pink shadow.
And last but not least, I layered on the Flamed OUt Mascara {which you can see in the very first photo above}.
