DIY Dip Painted Chopsticks Using Nail Polish

Just thought a fun little gathering would be all the more festive with customized dip dyed chopsticks! Especially because, it’s relatively free! But shhhh… don’t tell Ralph’s that I snatched a handful of “free with Sushi purchase” chopsticks! I was hoping the Chinese food delivery the night before would come stocked with chopsticks but they forgot to include them! – – Since they’re free and technically disposable, there’s no need to seal them because you can just toss them in the garbage at the end of your soiree! However, if you wash them directly after the meal, you may get a few more uses out of them.

What You’ll Need…

* Raw wood chopsticks
* Nail polish
* Sanding block or sand paper
* Bowl

Steps…

* Carefully remove sticks from their cute wrappers {if you’d like to use the wrappers again} and CAREFULLY break them apart. Occasionally you get a pair that doesn’t split equally so grab a few extra sets.

* Sand down the entire sticks with your sand block or sand paper so they are completely smooth.

* Wash them and let them dry.

* Choose your nail polish colors and simply dip your sticks in, allow to drip, then turn right side up and swirl a little to spread the polish evenly.

* If your lacquer bottles aren’t large enough to accommodate your sticks, simply paint them!

* Rest your sticks slanted in a bowl, making sure they don’t touch each other when drying. Let them air out a few days before your party so they don’t smell like nail polish. {you may also use acrylic paint if you prefer}

Voila!

Have Fun!
