There are tons of DIY Gold Accented Glassware tutorials on the internet already, but I felt inspired to make my simple wine glasses a little more festive for the holidays, so I thought I’d share my own. This could be a fun little holiday weekend project too!
The easiest option of course, is to paint on dots. Whether perfectly spaced polka-dots or a random dotted confetti effect, dots take very little precision, are super cute, festive, and chic, and also resemble the fun bubbly you’re about to drink.
I wanted something a bit different and went with a geo look of mismatched triangles. It only takes a wee bit more work than dots, and has ultimate bang for your buck. I opted to do a randomly spaced triangular design around the lower half of each wine glass, which is super cute and at certain angles the designs from the opposite side show through, making the design in whole, look taller.
Either way, it’s a super simple DIY that really upgrades your plain glassware or stemware for the holidays and it won’t wash off! I tested it on a different glass and even scrubbed with a rough sponge, and all my artwork stayed put. No need to bake… just let your designs dry and voila!

Here’s What You’ll Need…
- Sharpie oil based paint marker in silver or gold {specifically these paint pens & NOT the regular Sharpie markers}
- Glass or stemware of your choice… I used the Edge 13oz Wine Glasses from Crate&Barrel
Just One Simple Step…
On a clean glass, simply draw out your designs and let them dry.
TIPS:
* Your pen may dry out mid-way, so keep a paper nearby to press it down to wet it again, then carefully go over your lighter designs on your glass.
* Test out your design first on paper or an old glass you don’t care about.
* Use a template if you want a perfect design.
And… Voila!
