Flaunt It Friday // Legs + Leopard Print

date night outfit-cute+sweet+flirty

* This is part of my ongoing Collaboration with #TargetStyle / Target and Glam Media.

What I’m Wearing…

* SIN CITY Navy Mini Dress by Styligion {LOVE! Fits a little loosely-but so comfy and even works without a bra because of the thick fabric}
* Pegasus necklace & bracelets by Stella and Dot
* White leather ‘Rockie’ bag by Alexander Wang
* Square tortoise sunglasses by Stella McCartney
* Cute leopard slip ons by Target

* Lips: Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in honey nectar & comfort clear LOVE LOVE LOVE this nourishing lip balm with a hint of natural/neutral color… and it tastes good too!
* Lids: NYX The Curve Liner – Jet Black, where beauty meets function! Makes applying smooth lines and cat eyes a cinch!

While our daily hikes and walks have toned and firmed up my legs in a way that makes me so proud I can’t even tell you, I’m sometimes still self-conscious about my legs -but far less than I used to be. In fact, there was a time when I’d NEVER wear a short dress with sneakers because I only thought my legs looked good in heels.

My muscular legs felt bulky in flats and made me feel short and stumpy, whereas heels elongated them. But through the years I’ve learned that if I found my perfect hemline {everyone’s is different} and paired it with the perfect flat shoes, the combination flattered my legs and opened up so many new outfit opportunities.

For me, the perfect flat is oftentimes a sneaker {like these adorable leopard slip ons from Target, which I have in quilted black as well} and it has to do with the size and shape of my legs. Ballet flats with bare legs {for me} feel too small and are underwhelming for instance, while sneakers are sturdier and have a thicker sole as well as force my weight forward on my toes rather than back on my heels. Also after wearing heels for so much of my life, wearing certain flats were surprisingly hard to walk in, but sneakers are never a challenge. They’re always comfy and it’s one of my husband’s favorite looks on me, so it’s a win win! I wore this to our 8 year wedding anniversary dinner date.

There are amazing beauty products for legs nowadays, like firming lotions and airbrush leg makeup to help give your gams a gorgeous glow so you can forget about insecurities and feel confident showing off your legs any time of the year.
