My InstaLife : Week 12/10-15

Wow. We have been in our new house for just over a week and it already feels like a month has passed! Our original moving date was mid-month but due to snowy conditions, we pushed it up to the 5th and I’m so happy we did. We are new to all this snow stuff, so the thought of moving our entire lives directly into it would have been a little traumatic for us, well, me at least. But in this very short time, we’ve gotten to experience our first snowfall… and let me say, it has been just magical. The husband and I were both born and raised in LA/SFValley and grew up with 80degree Decembers and sunny and warm Christmas mornings. To wake up and see so much glistening white snowy powder on everything in our view, is just amazing. It’s all so surreal and I’m not sure our minds have even processed it just yet. We still sort of feel like we’re on vacation!

I get a lot of questions about where we actually are and if we are still in California and the answer is Yes! We are indeed in California, in Lake Arrowhead, just about an hour and a half away from Los Angeles and our old house. This is why everyone loves CA… in an hour or so you can either be at the beach, in the desert, or in the snow. And though we still have to work out all the kinks, right now, we are loving every minute of it.

Info & Links…

1. Bebop’s pretty good in his wheels the snow… until it gets too deep
2. All bundled up… Lumete sunglasses
3. Lauren Merkin leopard print bag {love} via The List
4. I love this town… it’s so magical
5. Dressing up for the holidays… and my first outfit post in the mountains ~ so many more to come!
6. Me with Santa, circa 1980
7. LOVE my Crocs snow boots {which are on sale at the moment & I’m thinking of getting another pair just in case they discontinue this style!}… and LeRoy’s getting used to the snow
8. We woke up on Thursday morning to our first snow!!! This photo is from our master bedroom looking down… it was also just the beginning of the snow, which came down the entire day.
9. I usually fold up this long sweatshirt on LeRoy but after he throws himself on the ground and up against the couch to scratch his back, it unrolls and looks like a tunic. It also gets caught under his knees and prevents him from walking. It’s pretty funny actually, though I don’t think he agrees. We now only use this sweatshirt when he goes outside to do his business, it goes over his smaller sweatshirt that he keeps on at all times. His short hairs are not made for the snow.
10. Grandma’s vintage Capodimonte lamps in my new office {see them in my old office here}… finally have unpacked enough boxes to begin decorating, though not even close to done. Hopefully I can share some photos this week.
11. Vintage Chanel and YSL cosmetic bags were my Grandma’s as well
12. Bebop in his wheels at dinnertime in the kitchen

Happy Weekend!
