Style That Pops with Tide Pods & Me { video + giveaway }

In my late teens, when I was about 19 I think and doing a lot of vintage shopping, I began to view my wardrobe as a collection. I have pieces in my closet that I’ve had since the ’90s, some that were my mom’s from the ’70s, and more from my grandma that were from the ’60s. I loved finding unique “special edition” pieces to add to my collection and it’s still how I shop today. This creates and cultivates a sort of individual style that pops!

I learned along the way to avoid certain fabrics that were labeled “dry clean only” because it would defeat the “thrifty” purpose by spending more money to launder it. I look for cotton and polyester and a mix of anything that I can toss in the machine but because I do view my wardrobe as a collection, I am also meticulous about the way I launder my clothes. I’m not a big hand-washer but I do wash most of my items in cold and hang or line dry anything that isn’t categorized as “around the house” clothes, like sweats. These tactics help save energy, so they are also better on the environment, which makes my heart happy too.

Part of my meticulous laundering obsession is due to the fact that I was raised by a single mom, who instilled in me the concept that if I ruined something, there was no way I was going to be able to replace it with a new one. There was no extra money for extravagant items so if I stained or ripped it, that was the end of it. This came down to everything really, and taught me to take care of my belongings very well.

Taking care of the clothes hanging in your closet and folded in your drawers is key in keeping your wardrobe looking great and wearable for many many years to come. So I’m really excited about these Tide Pods. They have everything you need to take the best care of your clothes in one neat convenient package: detergent, brightener and stain remover all in one, which dissolve easily in hot or COLD cycles, my favorite!
