YSL Silver Cage DIY heels Review

click to enlarge “all sizes” flickr

Just a little update on how the YSL silver “Cage” DIY heels withstood a day out of the closet.

As you may know I wore them to work last Friday and they stayed in place just fine. No problems there. The only problem I did encounter was the rubbing away of the spray paint on the side of the right one {which, by the way, doesn’t continue to smell like spray paint after that first day}

I quickly became aware of my habit of crossing my legs under my desk and resting my left foot on the top of my right one when I realized I was rubbing off the paint.

Solution? Don’t lean or rub on anything.

Well, that certainly won’t work {although the left foot is mint}. Maybe there’s a spray sealant I could spray over the silver? I’ll have to look into that. In the meantime, I’ll just spray them with another coat of silver.

All in all, I’m fairly happy with the quality …but not so much about my finger-like toes and chipping polish.

    If it rubbed off everywhere, could pull off a distressed look.
    LOL, finger-like toes – I’ve been *endowed* with the same. Hubs thinks it’s so weird that my 2nd toe is longer. My BF in highschool nicknamed me french frie toes…right after I told him the had big toes for thumbs…

    Omg, I had the funniest dream about your DIY projects last night… I was chillin’ with you and your hubby at your house (which was huge, btw), and you were showing me your latest projects, and the one you were *so* excited about was this panty project… you were adding some serious embellishments – beads, fringe, feathers, you name it – to the fronts of thong panties! You kept saying, “aren’t these SO cute and fun?!” Haha, it was hilarious!

    I’m not much of a sports-watching gal (with the exception of a tennis or boxing match here and there), and thankfully I also found a non-sports-watching boy! That I also means that I’m pretty clueless though when people around me start talking about their fav. teams 🙁

    Hahahaha about the husbo’s being excited about football season. I think mine is one of the only ones out there who doesn’t really follow football, but I know a lot of my girlfriend’s husbos are frothing at the mouth about it, lol.

    Loved the sandals and even if the paint comes off, i think it would be worth it if you could wear it a few more times. Although in the picture they look perfect.
    Talking of football season, for the next 6 months or so, our weekends would be planned according to the games schedule.
