* Title: Shawn Mendes – Youth (Lyric Video) ft. Khalid… Pain, but I won’t let it turn into hate…. No, I won’t let it change me…. You can’t take my youth away… This soul of mine will never break
I’m often told I think too much… lately I haven’t the time to think at all. But when enough silence circulates, I finally begin to hear my thoughts again… and I find it to be a bit of a blessing and a curse.
I’m comfortable in that space though and I miss it, so it’s a blessing when I feel like “me” again in those moments… but when I have time for reflection, I also begin to see what is and isn’t working in my life in the present and start visualizing a better future.
We find ourselves either on a journey or at the finish line of whatever it is we’re working so hard on… and then when it doesn’t quite meet our expectations, we search for more.
I think we’re all just on a constant search for the thing that will take us to the next level, the thing that offers a more peaceful existence with continued happiness and without so much suffering.
But it’s never just one thing, it’s never the end result but the journey we look back on that got us to the end result that built our character, helped us grow and taught us a little something more about life and about ourselves. And that is the thing that pushes us to want more, to seek new experiences, and to become new and better versions of ourselves.
I can’t say that I’m unhappy, I’m definitely not, but I’m not sure I can say that I’m happy either. If we never take a moment for ourselves, to weigh out what we like and want to keep in our lives and what we want to get rid of, we have no room for growth, there is no option for more and guarantees us staying exactly in the place we are in.
Though I’m not in a bad place, it’s difficult lately for me NOT to get caught up in the petty bullshit that is running a business and counting on business partners instead of just counting on myself. It’s hard to not point fingers, to think that we’re all doing more than the other, and to not bicker and fight about silly and stupid things when it’s all so much bigger than that. Focusing on the mindless and minute daily happenings is so small in comparison to the bigger picture at large. When everyone is pulling their own weight, doing their part, things should be running smoothly, but that isn’t always the case, in fact, it’s mostly not the case. To assume all will be perfect (in any circumstance) is setting ourselves up for huge disappointments on so many levels.
Owning a business is hard. Having business partners is challenging, to say the least. Worrying about what everyone else thinks is pointless and all the little things that piss us all off during the day should be blown off instead of blown out of proportion. Our passion for the business oftentimes gets confused with selfishness… The ultimate goal is to have a successful business. Everything else is complete nonsense.
The great ones are impossible to deal with because they know that if they do their job properly, if they just this once get it right, they can lift the human spirit, take it to a higher place.
Happy Thursday Lovecats!
