The newest trend in beauty is the exact opposite from contouring, it’s strobing… which is basically highlighting areas of your face where natural light would already bounce –like we did in the ’90s, but with less frosted shimmer and more “dew” {and far easier than contouring – which I admittedly have never done, not even once}. Though I do vaguely recall spending a good amount of time trying to get that dewy look without looking sweaty, oily, or streaky, which I also always found challenging if using a face powder… so maybe this beauty trend, like everything else, just got better with time, and a more punchy name to boot.
Cosmo suggests using a highlighter shade that best matches your skin tone…
From top to bottom: RMS Beauty Living Luminizer, $38; It Cosmetics Hello Light Anti-Aging Crème Illuminizer, $24; Benefit Sun Beam Golden Bronze Complexion Highlighter, $26; NARS The Multiple in “South Beach,” $39
I bought this one: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed so it would work with a little powder. We’ll see!

I happen to love getting my “news” and updates from Snapchat now in the “discover” section because it’s quick and colorful and fun! Which is where I originally found this “article” and the images via Cosmo… though in all honesty, I’m still figuring out all the ins and outs of snapchat {find/add me: maegantintari} and Happy Almost WEEKEND Lovecats!
