One of my absolute favorite hairstyles is the messy/loosely curled, just above shoulder length, bob. It reminds me of Cybill Shepherd from the 80’s, specifically in one of my favorite movies Chances Are. {It also reminds me of my mom :} And every time I grow my hair out I want to chop it off into a one-length bob {and have more than once actually – see here} But now, in my 30’s, I sort of enjoy my long hair as it can be used to hide thy face 😉 But this faux bob was so ridiculously easy it made me wonder why on earth I never tried it before.
Disclaimer #1: I start off slow, lol, it’s been a while since I’ve done a hair-to.
Disclaimer #2: I’m pretty sure I left in a few bits that should have been saved for an outtakes video but they made me laugh so ….whatevs.
Enjoy…
CLICK HERE for my vimeo page it looks a little better there.
Tools I used: hot rollers, Large Bobby Pinsfor the main hold & a few Small Bobby Pinsfor loose ends, a skinny ponytail holder, Bed Head BIGGIE hair spray
There’s something about this vintage dress that just makes me feel Italian when I wear it …I dunno why, I’ve never been to Italy, but it does. And the hair, I think helps, but also I think it adds an old Hollywood glamour-y touch that is just so fun. I love the idea of getting this look without having to chop all my hair off.
When I finished my hair/the video and walked out of the bathroom and into the living room where my husband was, he looked at me, tilted his head to the side and said “Your hair is SHORT …and BIG” …to which I responded “GOOD …that’s what I was going for” …and then he got that look in his eye which assured me he liked it ;).
And just in case you’re wondering 😉 I’m wearing a vintage floral print dress I’ve literally had for over ten years & purchased for under $5 {seen once in an outfit post here}, gold Rachel Roy drop earrings, gilded gold vintage necklace which was my grandma’s and Christian Louboutin’s that are so ridiculously high I can only use/wear them in at-home photo shoots.
* And yes, I teased you on Sunday …but you are all so smart, you knew I was bluffing 😉
