Fall is the MOST fun time to get dressed… it’s a fact 😊. Admit it, it’s exciting! The weather is starting to turn and we’re all tired of wearing the easy summer dresses (that we wait all winter to wear) and shorts and minimal clothing options and we can finally start layering on new silhouettes in deep, rich hues and textures with fun details and accessories to boot! And even though it’s over 100degrees right now where I live, I’m really looking forward to getting dressed up proper again after living in a small town where it just never felt right to do so.
I was talking (or commiserating, rather) on my Substack the other day, about how I was having a hard time finishing my closet room in my new house because it continued to remind me that I have no idea who I am at the moment… and because fashion and clothes and style is usually my first step in creatively expressing myself and my identity, I’m struggling with it quite a bit lately.
So in an attempt to pull myself out of the pits and get excited about my new life, I am turning to what has always worked for me in the past and using fashion as a way to jumpstart the process of self identity by deep diving into fun trends for the season.
My first stop was Free People last week, with denim trends but today I headed to VOGUE and scrolled through the 548 Street Style Photos from the Spring 2025 Runways by Phil Oh, and these looks had me most inspired and intrigued.
I think ultimately, it’s just time to start playing dress up in my closet… but now I have a few ideas of where to begin.
