Since the @ussoccer team is still in the running for the World Cup AND since the 4th of July is just days away, this red, white, and blue manicure works for both team USA spirit fingers and holiday fun and I just LOVE IT! Of course, each week I do a new and fun nail art mani on these here fingers and I say the same thing, but it’s fun to look down and see new and different art at the tips of my fingers, I just can’t help it.
This one is particularly easy and definitely doesn’t take too much precision, especially if you have a white nail art pen. Nail polish pens make nail art so much easier… I’d suggest, if you’re going to splurge on any one nail art pen, it would be white polish and/or black. My first attempt using the polish pen – on these summery geo nails – was a little messy. I’ve found if I squeeze the pen tip first, then dab the big polish drop on a napkin first, the polish has a more consistent drip, that without further squeezing, I can just carefully dab on.
Here’s What I Used…
* Classic red nail polish
* Essie “Butler Please” blue nail polish
* Nail RocKit white polish pen
* Seche Vite top coat
Here’s How I did It…
* It’s super easy!
1. Give yourself two coats of red polish and let dry. TIP: go light on the tips/edges & just make sure the base by your cuticles looks nice.
2. Following your poorly polished tops, using them as a guide as to where to apply your blue {over your red}. I liked how each nail was different. Some are a perfectly diagonal, others are more horizontally straight across, and my favorites were the ones that create a point of sorts. I create it simply by swiping polish in both directions. Let the first coat dry and go over it if you need to and let dry.
3. Using the area where your blue meets your red as a guide, carefully dot on your white polish to separate the two and add contrast.
I love the way these nails turned out! I think they’d be cute in so many color combos as well.
And… Voila!
Have Fun!
