It’s been ages since I gave myself a pretty nail art manicure or even just painted my nails. In fact, I think the last one was in fall, way back in September, the exact opposite of spring, and it was a twist on a french manicure in brown tones.
With all the extra vitamins I’ve been taking these last few years (pandemic immune support, lol) I’ve noticed my nails stronger and longer than maybe ever. Also, I used to keep my nails much shorter in my past. I’m not sure why, but I grow them out a little longer now, which obviously creates a much better/bigger canvas for nail art manicures. However, I rarely paint them anymore. I’m in the bare nails stage of my life I suppose (I mean, I barely wear makeup anymore either). But lately with spring in the air, I’ve been wanting to see a little color on my tips again and so I thought maybe I’d get a little nail art inspo…
Last year I was feeling lots of rainbow pastel manicures and this year I’m feeling flowers…
Taking it back a few years and decades to my 90s themed daisy nail art on black that I LOVED!
Oh I just love this simple bare nail look with little black leaves. Simple, but pretty… and you could technically paint the leaves any color… on any color background as well. Get creative!
Another one of my own favorite floral manicures with full tutorial (it’s easier than it looks)… pretty painterly florals on a dark midnight blue background.
It’s funny that most of the new floral nail art I’m loving right now (for spring 2022) has a flesh-toned base overlayed with flowers. I like the color combo above as well as where they placed the little florals around the edges of the nail like a frame almost.
My take on an abstract floral nail art, which makes painting flowers MUCH easier 😉
This was one of my favorites a few years ago… I’ve already shared it and with the flowers dripping down the fingers and skin, it’s probably a little much for everyday wear (lol) but I adore it anyway.
My take on a cherry blossom look, which I still thought turned out pretty good, considering it was my first try. I actually love the gold base with the pink flowers
Another fleshtone base with florals, but I love how they used the same colors as the flowers to paint the other nails.
These colors feel a little warmer too… maybe more summer? but still, cute inspo for spring ideas!
And from last year, my pastel rainbow nails with dried flowers manicure I loved.
What manicures are you feeling for Spring?
Happy (Almost) Spring Lovecats!
