Abstract Art Manicure ~ Nail Art DIY

With sewing, nail art, and really anything else, I find that I do not like to follow a pattern, line or rule. This is one of the reasons I DIY rather than follow patterns. They drive me insane trying to get it perfect. Thus, throughout my life, I have learned to find perfection in imperfection – which can often times be seen in abstract art. So I took it to my nails and while it is a bit similar to my Speckled St. Patrick’s Day manicure, it is even less meticulous in application… meaning, it’s rather easy! The one thing you MUST remember, is to complete each nail separately while the previous color is still wet.

What You’ll Need…

* OPI “Koala Bear-Y”
* Essie “Mint Candy Apple”
* Sonia Kashuk “Golden Ticket”
* Essie “Good to Go” top coat

Steps…

* Apply one coat of your base color to both hands. After it dries, you will do each nail individually.

* Apply a second coat of your base color to ONE NAIL then…

* While your base color is still wet, dab a few dots of your second color {pink} in various areas of your nail. Move your hand & fingers around so the polish distributes “artistically” {see my video below to watch me do it}.

* While your other two colors are still wet, dab a few smaller dots of your 3rd color {gold} in various areas of your nail… and follow the same technique above {see video for more}.

* Follow the steps above for each nail individually.

* Once you’ve finished both hands, follow up with your top coat.

…apologies, it’s a bit blurry!

Voila!
