So last Wednesday I dragged my mom to the carpet remnant warehouse with me hoping to find a rug to make a bigger impression on the room, tie it together perhaps, and give our toes something soft to walk on. And after about 15 minutes of looking for a thicker shag, I realized the perfect piece was right under my nose.
This is Valley Carpet One‘s remnant warehouse …they’re pretty deep in the Valley but they have a fairly large selection of sizes, piles, & colors.
I found an 11′ x 13′ sandy colored Berber for $75! …yes, seventy five dollars.
Don’t worry about fitting it into your car …the roll is taken out, the carpet flipped onto it’s underside so it doesn’t get dirty, then folded up and placed into your car or trunk. So easy! . . .and I gave him an extra $5 for his help
7733 Densmore Avenue Suite 10, Van Nuys, CA 91406
It’s the last blue garage space.
{I hate this shot of me …but my mom finally got a great smile, so it’s for her, lol!}
Mom for hire! …just kidding. She’s such a good helper. {that’s the 9’x7′ shag}
I don’t bind the edges because I don’t like the way it looks. Because of that, I do have to deal with the occasional carpet thread and lint. But it’s worth it to me on all levels.
The bedroom is nowhere near complete but it’s getting closer.
See my Master Bedroom Inspiration post for more details.
My Barclay Butera pillows sitting on my mom’s antique cedar chest …in.love.
A few of my blue and white porcelain finds from the Salvation Army. And my Marimekko ® Sarafan Cobalt Sheet Sets from Crate and Barrel which are now on sale …dammit.
On Gilt Home Sale right now is an amazing drum/octagonal porcelain garden stool from Emissary and I’m DYING FOR IT. Actually, I want two but I don’t really want to spend the $236 each when there are plenty of other great garden stools that would work as well.
* Leaves cut from my Cala Lily plants …my favorite look.
And finally, I did find two great little console tables a couple weeks ago surprisingly at one of my favorite little funky shops in the Valley called Mainly Seconds, mostly known for plants and pots but sells a strange variety of other randoms. I frequent it because I just never know what I’ll find.
These little tables were the absolute perfect size …and really, the perfect price too. They were listed at $99 each but since they had a few defects {which I didn’t mind because it added to their charm} they took $20 off making them $79 each. Sold!
See that decorative metal piece above the little drawer? I’m not in love with it. It’s only held on by a few screws so I may just take it off and hand paint the sides & drawer {but not the top} to look like this amazing dresser below.
