It was so dreary last Friday …the weather, just horrendous, and so were my outfit shots. The only one that wasn’t blurry was the one I used last. I didn’t have the heart to take more though as I just wanted to get inside and swap all these clothes for nice warm cozy sweats and find a warm place on the couch to become part of for the rest of the evening …which I did.
I randomly stopped at my favorite local thrift shop on my way home and instantly spotted our new dresser sitting quietly against the wall. It’s not my usual taste but since I’m going for a very tropical vacation-y feel for our master bedroom I really couldn’t visualize anything at all that would work for the space. But when I spotted this one I wondered why I hadn’t thought of it sooner.
The main window of our master looks out to our backyard pool which is a dark teal, with the wood floors, a few big-leafed plants and the leather{like} headboard/bed frame we just bought, it really was a winner! It was listed for $275 but I wanted it for $200. When I asked if they would negotiate the price they declined BUT told me if I donated $25 to the Cancer Society, I would automatically get 25% off of everything in their shop for the next month including my purchase that day …and that brought my total down to $203, which was perfect.
Getting it home was a nightmare for my husband, friend Timmy and brother who all went on Saturday afternoon and kindly dealt with man-hungry-drooling cougar who accidentally elbowed my husband in the face trying to maneuver a dolly out of the back of my bro’s truck. But it’s here now …and sitting about 7 inches away from the wall thanks to the DirecTV installer who drilled the hole in the floor for the wires about 5 inches away from the wall instead of right next to it. Awesome.
Hopefully I can find some great night stands/short dressers and complete this room within a couple of weeks …and of course share it with you 🙂
