There’s nothing sweeter than handmade love notes for Valentine’s Day, don’t you think? They don’t even have to be time consuming to be heartfelt, as even one singular cut-out heart with the words “I Love YOU” will do. I wanted to get just a touch more creative though, and taking inspiration from this sweet DIY love note, I created my own rustic glam 3 heart Valentine’s Day card to inspire you as well.
With a glass of Ecco Domani Prosecco, a few sweet heart cookies & red velvet cake bites later, I got to work.
Here’s What You’ll Need…
- Glitter card stock paper &/or construction paper, patterned scrapbook paper
- Rope, string, or yarn {about 12″ long}
- Felt tip marker
- Hole punch & Scissors
- Hot glue gun & glue sticks
Steps…
Cut your thick glitter card stock in half OR if you have a pre-existing envelope you’d like to use, cut it to size, allowing 1/4″ around each edge to fit within it.
Fold it in half and trim away any uneven edges.
Using your hole punch, punch a hole at the center of your edge, about a half and inch in.
String your rope or yarn through the holes evenly.
Fold the edge of your cute construction paper or scrapbook paper and cut 1 to 3 little hearts.
You can choose to create ONE LARGE HEART or three little ones as I have.
Write your message on the front of your card… I chose “You have my… ”
{though I should have spaced it a bit better}
Open your card & lay it flat so that your string is pulled taught and hold it in place. Hot glue the string just outside the hole to set it in place for good.
Glue your three hearts to the string on the inside of your card and let dry.
I should look something like this…
Finish with a sweet love note inside, then tie your strings into a cute bow and you’re done!
And… Voila!
You have my… Heart!
Have Fun Lovecats & Happy Valentine’s Week!
