I’d like to write something really profound but this song pretty much captures the mood and makes the point so perfectly well, there’s almost nothing left to say.
But ya know, once you make a decision to do something, the winds change and everything aligns to create your vision. And when there are setbacks and roadblocks along the way, and people saying you can’t, killing your vibe, trying to make you doubt your decision or do it their way, stay strong, remember your vision, and do it anyway. If everyone could do it, they would. Those who want to crush your dreams are only speaking from a place they know, from a limited life experience of their own. But they don’t know you. They don’t know what you can do… only you do. So do it anyway and prove them wrong. They’ll have an opinion either way and probably dislike you either way, so why live in their limited version of what life can be? Life is beautiful and amazing and even if you know a storm can come through and knock it all down in a second, build it anyway.
I’m obsessed with Dogwood trees and flowers blooming at the moment… a tree I’ve been enamored with since I moved up here and saw them blooming for the first time in the spring of 2013 when I had no idea what they were. It’s fitting that Dogwood Tavern would be the name, even if it wasn’t the first choice, because sometimes you just need to sit back, be patient, and know that everything is falling into place exactly the way it should be.
