Sitting here on yet another snow day, all I can think about is WARM WEATHER AND SPRING and being able to leave the house in my Vans with, dare I say, MY ANKLES SHOWING and not get frostbite!
My sneakers are a true sign of the weather for me since I pretty much live in my Vans, and usually around late October I start getting frosty toes and I know it’s time for boots. And as much as I love my boots, I love my sneakers more and wearing one single layer of clothing instead of 10 and maybe even A DRESS!
Sure, the snow is magical and glorious but honestly, it was a lot more magical when I never had anywhere to go during the winter months and worked from home. Now all I think about is being able to get out and skate and I can’t… even going to my office and running my normal errands is a challenge in the snow. I think the pandemic keeping us on lockdown for 2020 also has something to do with this idea of freedom and getting out of the house and now that we finally can, the weather is making it much more difficult.
Anyway, with all these thoughts of spring and warm sunny days, I’m itching to start going through my wardrobe and creating new looks with what I already have (you know that’s my fave!) and also maybe adding a few new items as well. Also, since I’ve got roller skating on the brain, thinking about outfits for that new activity is pretty fun as well.
Here are a few really casual and comfy looks that are inspiring part of my spring wardrobe this year… they seem a little boring, but it’s in the details really and I’m just taking ideas and pulling bits and pieces from them all to create my own fun outfits. Everything here is ridiculously expensive and obviously I’m not spending $325 on a pair of shorts, or $720 on a pair of cute cropped pink pants but if I can recreate a similar look with something I have or something more affordable or even thrifted or vintage, then it’s even better 🙂
