Hair Styling Toolsfrom major curls to perfect waves

Buy these: Hollywood Pink Foam Rollers 14 small 1/2

* Small Sponge Rollers applied to damp hair using thick sections of hair. Sleep/keep in over night. After pulling out rollers carefully, let sit {while applying make-up for example} then pull out just a bit with fingers
* Second day: looser curls : pulled most out with fingers. No brushing
* Small Sponge rollers applied to wet hair : thinner/smaller sections of hair = more curlers = tighter curls. Leave in overnight. Pull out with fingers or pick. Creates large fluffy afro

Babyliss Porcelain Ceramic 1-1/4" Curling iron

Buy it here: BaByliss PRO Professional Porcelain Ceramic Curling Iron

1-1/4" ceramic curling iron -hair-style

* Air-dried hair. Used 1-1/4″ iron loosely around hair …much like my perfect wave hair-too video but with larger {and less} sections. The difference: larger iron and I brushed out the waves after curling them {which I don’t normally do} to make them softer.

*Because this iron is porcelain/ceramic, it doesn’t seem to dry out my locks as much so it creates a softer/shinier wave. This is a new iron and I’ve only used it once but I’m loving it so far.

with Multi Heat Control (Model: 1111)

* Air-dried hair but looks like a blow-out. Used iron at roots to lift …then smoothed out sections with it and curled from bottom up. This is new as well …and loving it too.
{$25 @ amazon – link above. I spent $44 @ the beauty supply. dumb}

Buy it here: Hot Tools Jumbo 1″ {Model 1181}

* This is what have used for all waving in the past.

* Dries out my hair more than the newer porcelain ceramic versions but possibly gets hotter. I rarely brush these waves out. Occasionally I fluff the top with a brush. Using larger/smaller sections creates more/less waves.

Cool Touch Rollers in 3 Sizes (Model: 1321)

* Mine are actually my mom’s from the 70’s. Nothing works as well on my hair as hers. lol. The hot tools link look the most similar and probably work just as well.

* Mostly I curl hair {old-school} from the bottom up with hot rollers …but occasionally I’ll start at the top or middle as with my curling irons/perfect wave tutorial.

* Hair spray all styles lightly to hold and “fluff” with hands ;). Usually, second day hair has more texture and holds a wave better. I rarely blow-dry my hair any more as to avoid extra damage.

* You can also use these techniques for short hair as well using a skinnier iron …or the 1″ versions for a larger wave for short bobs to shoulder lengths …try it out 😉
