Halloween or not, this may be one of my new favorite manicures ever. Done with metallics, shimmers, and fine glitters, any three colors would look fantastic really. After compiling my Halloween manicure ideas from around the web, I was determined to create something different. And while this isn’t spooky, I think it’s a chic way to do a Halloween mani using the copper rather than a bright orange…. and in the end actually looked like a Seismograph. I just love it.
Here’s how I did it…
I used only Sonia Kashuk nail polishes:
* Starry Night {black shimmer} | Smoke & Mirrors {silver} | Two Cent {copper}
* Seche Vite fast drying top coat {a favorite}
* Paint two coats of black to half of your nail, closest to the nail bed. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
* Paint two coats of copper to the top half of your nail… and let dry.
* With your silver metallic, allow most of your paint to drip from your brush so it’s more dry than wet and carefully create lines mimicking a Seismograph {earthquake meter} and fill in the blanks with all silver.
>NOTE: this particular metallic silver is thick enough to go on and cover in one coat… I love it!
Voila!
* Obviously, my right handed work {on my left hand} is a little steadier than the other, creating more distinct lines, but the smudgier affect works as well.
Have Fun!
