Last year around this very time I was packing up my stuff, yet again, and moving out of the townhouse on the water in Lake Arrowhead and into my parents house, also in Lake Arrowhead, which I have referred to as Le Dome because well, for obvious reasons, it is a geodesic dome.
There were a few reasons I felt the need to move but mostly, the blizzard in late winter prior had a really heavy affect on me and staying in that space just felt off. My daily walks proved to be a series of flashbacks of snow piled so high I couldn’t see out my front door, my car completely covered in snow, disappearing completely, the lake iced over and the nearby trails and streets blocked for weeks due to the lack of snow plows. That storm really hit me hard mentally and I needed to move so that I wasn’t reminded of it daily.
I had a one year lease at the townhouse, which ended October 1st and while at first I had planned on moving back into my previous house, into my previous life and relationship, something within told me that wasn’t the answer and luckily for me, at the very same time, my mom was contemplating selling her house and so she offered it to me while she decided.
I took her up on it and on November 1st, I moved in.
While the idea of a dome shaped house is pretty exciting, I had some reservations about how my furniture would fit and/or if I could make it all work in a way that felt good to me visually and to my soul spiritually. I’m not sure everyone feels this way about a house, but for me it truly has to speak to me energetically and offer a space that feels beautiful to live in at the same time.
And to my surprise, Le Dome offered both!

When I moved my furniture into the space, everything fit wonderfully and I loved the energy and the bright light that shone through daily.
Since there are very few flat walls, I wondered how and where I would place my furniture… and because I had a sectional couch and was only using two parts of it at the townhouse, I also used only two sections of it here, but split them open with a triangle space in between so that it flowed with the curved wall and window design.
Technically, the house isn’t “curved” but is a series of triangles that ultimately gives it its curved shape.
Because I never shared the living room here, I thought this might be a fun time to do so. You can see the other side of the space by the staircase in this post and in my nostalgic Christmas tree decor post as well.
At the end of August 2024, I moved out of Le Dome and left Lake Arrowhead and moved down to Redlands.
Happy Monday Lovecats!
