What I’m Wearing…
* Vintage oversized hot pink slouchy blouse. {similar but new here and this adorable polka dot blouse is only $14.99!} I actually felt a little grandma when I first put this on because it was so huge, but I loved that the back was a bit longer than the front and a hint sheer, which saved me from looking like I was one of the Golden Girls in 1987, hopefully.
* Juliette super skinny ankle zip jeans c/o Hudson Jeans {love these}
* Silver studded flats… are CROCS! {so cute… they run a little big, size down} I wanted to wear Crocs because I knew I’d be on my feet and they are so comfy, they disguise the fact that I have a horribly bad ankle that I still haven’t had checked out :/ But it worked 😉
* Tiffany T pendant necklace, gold hoops, branch bangles, chain bracelet & Kenneth Cole watch
* Chloe Belladone sunglasses in gray/gold
* Rebecca Minkoff MAB in soft gray/blue
We live in a really really amazingly awesome and fun neighborhood packed house to house full of great people, aka: neighbors… it actually rivals that stereotypically perfect 50’s family sitcom, complete with the friendly mailman we know by name and a catchy theme song ;). We are so lucky… and if we could buy the house we live in now, we probably would just to stay in the neighborhood. But unfortunately, it’s not for sale.
Every year on Labor Day Weekend, everyone pitches in and gathers for a block party. Last year it fell on our wedding anniversary while we were at the beach and couldn’t make it. But this year we were so delighted to be a part of it. I would have included more photos but I wasn’t sure everyone wanted to be unknowingly on the internet so I kept it few and far between. Though I couldn’t help including the adorable little boy wearing the panama hat and the “I Think Therefore I Am” t-shirt whose name, if I remember correctly, is Dylan. I died from cuteness overload, really I did.
We actually live on the corner of the beginning of a long “T” cul de sac and occasionally see a few kids running around but it wasn’t until we were all together, watching the water balloon fight and the volleyball game and the Angry Bird pinata get beaten to a pulp, that it hit us just how many kids were in this 2-street T vicinity. I hope we stay long enough so that some day our kid can enjoy the greatness that is our hood and all the little kiddos in it too.
My husband is the designated dog-walker of the house {because he’s an amazing man & knows that my patience and tolerance for annoying dog walking behavior is very low} so he already knows most of the neighbors because he’s out and about more than I am… and I knew about half of them and the other half in theory. I grabbed my STACKED Wines to share {which were PERFECTION for this event and a huge hit, not to mention delish} and our mini cupcakes and we headed over, well, down the street, and enjoyed our Sunday evening with our neighbors.
But first… let’s discuss STACKED Wines
Psst! I originally heard about the amazing STACKED wines via Holly @ Zucchero Zucchero who is about to have a baby! I tweeted about them… and 3 varieties of STACKED Wines arrived at my door two days later. I love the internet! {They are individually plastic glassed, perfect for travel, picnics, & outdoor events, like the Hollywood Bowl… check the site for local suppliers}
