My living room/great room {I never know just how to refer to it really} is an ongoing project of decorating and redecorating, as many of the rooms in your homes probably are as well. It’s just never complete and never quite right and now that it’s Summer, my winter-warm accents seem too heavy. The Summer look I’m going for is a sort of rustic, beachy, cozy feel, which I love, but the room is a work in progress. {NOTE: I finally accepted the fact that the wrinkles and creases in my ombre curtain panels weren’t going to fall out on their own, unfortunately, and spent a good 5 hours hand-steaming them a few weeks ago. Curtain Rods are from C&B too}
Soon after I posted my Perfectly Leafy Indoor Trees post, I began my hunt for the perfect indoor tree for our living room. Of course my selection up here is very limited and after stopping at three of the local nurseries, I went into Jeannine’s Home Furnishings and found a few Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Trees on her back patio, which she happily sold to me for $27. I still may go back for the other one because while it’s not as bright as I originally imagined my leaves to be, or as full, I kind of love the washed out blue-green look of the round leaves. I found the Extra Large Round Sea Grass Basket on Amazon to complete the look. And I love it.

Originally this corner was occupied by the Lenox Club Chair I found at Joss and Main and used in our old master bedroom in our old house, and paired with a table I found at MyHabit, and a random old floor lamp. It was all just there until further notice. So once I moved the tree into that corner, the chair was moved to the opposite side of the room, next to the fireplace, just off of where the dining room table is.
I recently found a small accent table that would quietly hide our cable box and gaming systems until we have a permanent, built-in and/or hidden spot for them. {the TV is mounted above the fireplace}
When I bought tree, I also picked up this large beachwood spikey ball from Jeannine’s Home Furnishings and can’t decide if I like it as an accent to the chair or up on the fireplace. So for now, it’s on the fireplace.
I also switched up some of the decor and vases on my console table/shelves by the stairs and front door area. I still love my DIY Feather Wall Art in this space and most of the other items have been found at thrift shops and randomly on the internet… the large shells were my mom’s from the 80’s.
Can you spot LeRoy?
The pillow placement on the sectional changes daily, lol.
