August seems to be the month of denim, every magazine I open this month is brimming with denim looks from basic classics to denim in every color of the black and blue rainbow.
Aside from vintage Levi’s, designer jeans, in a variety of brands, have been my go to denim. I’ve been wearing designer denim and ONLY designer denim for over a decade now. Along with sunglasses and handbags, denim for me is splurge worthy.
That sounds kind of snobby, but I promise it’s not that I’m against affordable jeans, or am some sort of brand addict, it’s because in the past, I could never EVER find jeans that fit me right and once I went designer, I never went back. They always fit right, they keep their fit throughout the years and washings {though I don’t wash my denim too often}, and because of that, I stuck with them.
Until I teamed up with Target recently and had to step out of my high priced denim box, I found not one, but three pairs of jeans at Target that were not only affordable {they start at $17.99} but fit well and are comfy to boot.
Like these super light blues, I was stunned when I pulled them on and zipped em up, that they fit like a glove.
As deconstructed as they came, it wasn’t quite enough to satiate my desired look, so I grabbed a pair of scissors, and while wearing them, filed away at the knee with an edge until they frayed and ripped. Paired with a little underwear as outerwear and leather in light and dark, it’s a simple outfit with a hint of rebellion and glam. Heels would have put it over the top… quilted flat sneakers for the win!
Happy Hump Day Lovecats!
