As part of my partnership with Ecco Domani, last Tuesday evening I took over their Instagram account for a little over and hour and flooded it with photos of my home {and their yummy wine, of course} sharing little tips and tricks I do to make every day a little more extraordinary and special.
And just in case you missed it, I’ve recapped it here.
I ADORE fresh flowers in my home, but cut flowers get expensive and then die in a week & leave a smelly mess to clean up. I always opt for a potted plant like this hydrangea {$8.99} or orchids that last for months with pretty blooms as long as you take care of them. And when they go dormant, you can plant them in your garden. So many levels of awesome.
I LOVE finding special, different, & unique glassware at vintage shops & even if it’s just a set of two, I can never pass them up. And rather than keeping them hidden in my cupboards, I use them! And even if they aren’t necessarily the correct glass for the drink, it makes it all feel a little more special.
One of my favorite sitting areas in our house is right here in our master bedroom… I based the color scheme of the room on this large Nathalia Edenmont flower print which was also a wedding gift. The combination of sentiments makes it special and I smile whenever I see it and/or relax in the space.
I originally created these DIY Heart Etched Wine Glasses for Valentine’s day, but they could work for wedding parties, anniversaries, or every day. Etching glass is super easy, so customize your simple glassware to make them a bit more fabulous.
I still prefer reading actual books to digital ones… there’s just something a little more romantic about it to me & gives my eyes a break from the screens I look at all day… I make my own bookmarks by simply cutting pretty ribbons & and it makes it just a little more special.
I love a little humor in my home… Our long upstairs hallway is full of silly things that make me smile every time I walk by! I love using vintage books as decor too… You can find them for pennies in thrift shops and in this case, the old bindings match my chairs. It’s an affordable way to bring color and culture into a space. The little moose print on my gold stump side table reads “nice rack”.
These are my favorite coasters & I made them! I simply found a yard of upholstery fabric (because it’s thicker!), cut squares w/ pinking shears & stitched the cute pom pom trim around the edges. Such a simple & affordable way to create something unique that matches your home decor! … And a quick coat of cheery nail polish always brightens my day… Find the full DIY Pom Pom Coasters here

* Because it’s the little things that upgrade the ordinary, don’t you think?
