Healthy Green Shamrock Smoothie Shake for St. Patrick’s Day

healthy green shakes for st patricks day

I was dying to do something green for St. Patrick’s Day, like a fun green nail art tutorial or DIY, but my creative brain has been a bit preoccupied lately. Though I’ve had green and minty green nails all month, anything more just seemed gratuitous at the moment. But then I found these two yummy and healthy green drink recipes and was inspired to make one of my own.

I used two recipes to create my own concoction: Healthy Green Smoothie Recipe and Skinny Shamrock Shake because I wanted both. A little bit smoothie & a little bit shake, I wanted it to feel like a fun dessert and it’s delish!

Here’s What I used…

healthy fresh shamrock shake

* 2-1/2 Frozen Bananas
* About 1/2 cup of 1% Milk {organic/lowfat}
* About 2/3 {or nearly two single serving sizes} Chobani Greek Vanilla Yogurt
* About 2 handfuls of spinach

I know… this is why I don’t often do recipes because I really eyeball everything and then add to taste. I would have added peppermint to make it minty but the husband doesn’t like mint. I think fresh peppermint a little ice would have made it perfection though {I would have liked it a bit colder/crunchier/frozener-if that makes sense.}

Notes: Peel your bananas before your freeze them. Blend your bananas, yogurt, milk first, then add your spinach and if you’d like, peppermint. Blend more. Add a swirl of whipped cream and tiny chips on top! You can also add some colorfully disgusting lucky charms cereal on top, because that would be adorable {but gross, lol}

And… Enjoy!
