If you’ve been following along my Suave® Professionals ~ NEW Visible Glow™ Self-Tanning Body Lotion faux summer tan challenge and review, you can now visibly see that I am safely tan and ready for summer! And I must admit that I am super happy with the results!
I began with winter skin as pale a ghost, then used Visible Glow™ Self-Tanning Body Lotion in Fair to Medium four times, and gradually began building a nice little glow. That’s when I decided to kick it up a notch and leveled up to the Medium-Tan. After about four uses of that, I soon began to see this lovely warm bronzy summer glow that also has made my skin super soft to touch. It’s not too dark, it’s just right.
While the fair to medium self tanning lotion went on without too much prior prep other than giving my body a good exfoliating in the shower, I’ve found that I needed to take a few more precautions with the darker level lotion. It is the same ivory color with a nice floral, almost gardenia scent {not overwhelming at all, but pleasant!!}, but since it ultimately results in a darker glow, I’ve had to be a bit more careful with my application.
Here are some tips I’ve found really help me get a smooth, all-over glow, without any streaking:
1. Of course, get some scrubby gloves and exfoliate in the shower. Make sure to go extra scrubby on elbows, knees, and any areas that may be calloused {like the tops of my feet around my ankles from kneeling with the puppies!}
2. I found if I used a little regular non-tanning-lotion on my hands, elbows, knees, and feet, FIRST, the self-tanning lotion went over them more smoothly without getting stuck in the creases.
3. After applying Visible Glow™, I took a wet/damp wash cloth and swiped over the areas of concern like my knees, elbows, calloused ankles, and feet.
4. Definitely wash your hands and wrists carefully after application.
I like big butts and I cannot lie 😉
I am, admittedly, LOVING pulling together fun swimwear outfit posts! I am not so much loving showing this much skin necessarily, but if I hadn’t accepted this challenge and review, I would have never realized just how fun it is to style swimwear outfits other than just throwing on a bathing suit and cover up and heading to the pool, beach, or lake. These little outfits have been so much fun to wear, and living near the lake, I may just have to incorporate them into my summer outfit posts.
Outfit details: ruffled geo bikini bottoms/roxy | crop mock tank | cheapy sunglasses | vintage chain necklaces worn with ombre fringe necklace from 2009 | black Birkenstocks | Nike+ Fuelband {helping me get totally fit!}, vintage leather wrap bracelet and Hipanema bracelet
