We’ve been a bit behind on the Halloween decor front this month because we’ve been so distracted by our house situation {we are in escrow, eek!}. My husband usually has boxes of king sized candy bars just waiting to hand out on Halloween to all the kiddos but he hasn’t even gotten them yet. This is the first year we’re not having our annual Halloween party as well, so without that motivation, the decorating has been on the back burner. But better late than never, right? What I do find when decorating for Halloween, is that I already tend to lean towards randomly weirdly-creepy pieces that I just pull from other areas of the house and make even more creepy. No, I don’t keep skeletons around on the regular, but the face vase does have a permanent home in a favorite little nook of our house.
As you may well know, LeRoy is my partner in crime, so he ended up in quite a few photos.
* My 2010 Haunted Tabletop remains a favorite! This year’s is rather tame.
I used: My easy DIY Fall Tablecloth with a creepy shredded cloth as my table runner.
I added the spiders after I shot the photos… oops.
My Eames House Bird always makes my Halloween decor.
My creepy skeleton, which usually rests in the fireplace or the bathtub {I actually have 2 full skeleton bones sets}, found a new home in a large vase this year… with a few creepy eyeballs & tiny rats to boot.
One side of our yard literally has grass on it for 3 months tops and then it dies… and is just dirt and weeds. I normally hate it except for the month of October when it makes the perfect backdrop for my creepy graveyard…
It should be known that we have not one pumpkin yet… But pumpkins aren’t spooky 😉 I like to get them at the end of October so I can use them through November for Thanksgiving.
* See my Pumpkin Centerpiece from last year.
Spoooooooky….
