It was overcast and cloudy much of the day yesterday and it even drizzled a little, but the sun was dying to come out just in time for us to enjoy a little lake time and fun in the sun. I’m always amazed when my iPhone camera captures the fine details in nature, like the rays shooting out from the clouds here. It’s so beautiful.
My cousin Kelley came up to for a quick visit yesterday with her two beautiful daughters and we had a fun time playing in the lake and making new friends on the beach.
#FlashbackFriday wouldn’t have been complete without a pic of the puppies, and this one of them kissing just kills me!
I’ve been trying to remove photos from my phone because it’s at capacity and even though I save them all to dropbox, I still have hard time deleting them. My phone was new at the beginning of the year… when we got the puppies in March, I had about 1100 photos…. I’ve had over 12,000 since the puppies that I’m constantly trying to delete. I just can’t do it, lol. I’m at about 8,000 now.
I finally got some new workout shoes, but I like them so much I don’t want to get them dirty! All this mountain dirt up here really kills shoes, but I also have to find ones that are comfortable enough to walk in, since we’re out and about so much on our feet.
I found these in the men’s sections… since my feet aren’t small {I wear a woman’s US 9} and they’re not narrow, many women’s workout shoes don’t fit me right. They’re usually too tight and squeeze in all the wrong places putting pressure on all the wrong places and I end up with aching feet.
So I went to the men’s depo {at my local DSW} and found these Nike “Kaishi” in gray and in black in a men’s SIZE 8! They must run ridiculously small because I’m normally a men’s 7. But no mind, I just want shoes that fit right and feel good. And these do. They’re mesh on top, super light, and technically for running. I will be wearing them for all things.
Ya know when you think you’re in the clear as far as work is concerned and you’re set for a fairly easy work day and then suddenly you realize that you’ve done something wrong and then have to spend all day trying to fix it and have an unexpectedly long work day because of it? That was my Thursday, so when at 8pm I was finally finished, the only thing making me smile {besides my dogs of course} was knowing that Friday was coming, and I could actually relax.
I got a new rug for the long slanted hallway… I actually bought this black and white rug for the Reading Room but remembered at the time I had an extra white faux fur one sitting around and used it instead because it looked better. So this one has been rolled up in the closet for a few months and finally I decided it might look nice in the hallway, and it does. I like the mixed patterns, with the Union Jack stools… it’s like a starry background.

Even though they were starting to chip, I really loved the color combo of last week’s nails… or maybe they were the week before’s? I think I did them on Friday, but they’re still kind of holding up. Though I never posted them, I used a shimmer black/gray base coat with mint and fuchsia dots for flowers.
