Just recently I had a moment where I was kind of heading toward being totally over nail art… and then minutes later had this idea for a Christmas manicure, so there’s that. I’m kind of just loving simple classic colors on my nails without the distraction of all the frills, but that could change of course. I may even do one more holiday nail art design before the end of the year, but maybe not. But until then, I loved this abstract tree manicure that lasted FOREVER because of the glitter.
I forgot to document each step on my nails, so I replicated it on a notecard, and I’m kind of loving the finished piece as artwork AND the polka dotted nails to boot!
Here’s What I Used…
* Red : Wet n’ Wild Megalast in Rouge 66 {and has a really wide brush, & dries matte}
* White : Nail RocKit Pen
* Metallic : Magic Nail
* Glitter : Sally Hansen Color Frenzy 320 Splattered
Steps…
Apply two coats of your favorite classic red {or any color really} and let dry.
Using your white polish pen or a pen tool & white polish, draw a squiggly abstract style Christmas tree and let dry. Some will turn out better than others… don’t worry if they’re not perfect, the glitter top coat will disguise flaws in real life.
Top your tree off with a metallic dot and let dry.
Finish with a top coat of glitter!
And… Voila!
They have a bit of a messy look in the photos, but in real life, they were pretty great!
Happy Holidays Lovecats!
