In 2011 James Beck gave away everything he owned and went on the road to live a life of charity for one year.
He traveled to each state and offered three days of his time to help people, mostly strangers, with their needs, from babysitting, to installing fences, to cleaning up after tornados, and only asked that they “Pay it Forward” in return.
This film chronicles his attempt to create a ‘Pay-it-Forward’ social experiment, a yearlong test to see if a person could thrive in society by existing in a constant state of giving. The test apparently becomes even more daunting when James meets a girl… and then turns his social experiment into a tragic personal journey of nightmarish proportions.
So I’m going to try to Pay it Forward by supporting the project, donating to it, and sharing it with you, hoping that you’ll do the same so they can reach their goal of $30,000 by Sunday June 30, and make this documentary a reality.
Hope inspires hope, inspires action. Let’s all strive to be better humans every day.
