* Title: Vallis Alps ‘Fading’… And I didn’t think I would stay for this… And you didn’t think I would go. But now we’re alone in the atmosphere… A place I’ll never know…. And nothing goes unspoken… When the colors unfold… Now I’m alone in the atmosphere and here we are.
We had our first snow of the season over the weekend and it was beautiful… though when it began, I was slightly terrified by the insane thunder and lightning that accompanied it. I mentioned yesterday I had a little anxiety about how I was going to be able to handle the winter and holiday months all alone for the first time, IN EVER, but after the winter weekend and thanks to a group of amazing friends, it was really actually super fun.
It’s always the fear of something that is more worrisome than the actual “thing” but to convince our chaotic minds otherwise, is a challenge. Now that I’ve conquered my first snow alone, I’m so looking forward to the actual winter, as I have the last three years up here. I say it every year, but it never gets old… living in a place where you get to actually experience real seasons {after growing up in LA where rain is a big event}, is truly magical. The seasons change and the people change and then you change… there’s real growth and beauty in the uncertainty that comes with changing seasons, something I didn’t realize until I actually experienced it. I probably sound silly to anyone who has grown up anticipating seasons and seeing the changing world around them, but I’m eternally grateful for it and feel so lucky to live up in these mountains every day.
