I have been waiting and waiting for the weather to turn chilly and the leaves to fall to do a jewel-inspired manicure. And even though it still seems a bit early, I’ll just offer it as inspiration for the coming holiday months. I think this will be a perfect late November {aka Thanksgiving} and Christmas manicure. Though I made sure not to put the red and the green too close so it didn’t ultimately feel like a Christmas mani. I was inspired by the jewels in the photo below and added the fun gems to bring in the gold.
What You’ll Need…
* Jewel Toned nail polishes…
I used OPI Siberian Nights {purple}, Sephora OPI My Personal Serpent {blue}, OPI Kennebunk Port {red}, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark {wine} and OPI Jade is the New Black {green}.
* Seche Vite top coat
Optional:
* Nail art rhinestones {7400 Nailart Rhinestones for $8.49}
* MASH Nail Art Tweezer for Rhinestones {they’re cheap and they make it 10 times easier}
* Line up your colors so you remember the order… I painted one color scheme from pinky to thumb and the other from thumb to pinky so each hand would be just a little different.
* With your nails sticky but not “wet”, carefully set your jewel onto your nail. You may also wait until your nails are completely dry & use a glue to help them adhere. I did not though.
* Once your stone is where you want it, apply a thick top coat so it seals the edges and secures your jewel to your nail.
* I chose to bejewel only my ring, middle and thumbs but you can do as many as you wish!
NOTE: In person the blues, purples, and wines are more distinctly different than in the photos.
Voila!
Have Fun! Happy Fall~!
