I randomly clicked on a picture of a pretty blue Easter egg with polka dots the other day that took me to this link at Home Life about coloring Easter eggs …so I thought I’d give it a go and put my own spin on it.
Initially I thought stickers in different shapes would be genius but found that the blue painter’s tape really worked the best at not letting dye under & peeling off easily afterwards {although the little stars worked quite nicely}. I just so happened to find neon food coloring dyes at the market and literally squealed with glee. For each color I mixed 3 cups of hot water, 2 tablespoons of white vinegar then just eye-balled the colors and dip-dyed until I liked the turnout. This was a first at dying brown eggs, which turn out a much richer tone than the white ones and I just love them!
If I had a little more patience I would have done a feather series as well …so pretty, right? But the thought of cutting more tiny strips of tape was daunting, so I dare you to do it 😉 I’m sure the ideas are endless!
