This is one of my favorite photos of my mom. I’m not sure if it’s just old or it was always sort-of brownish, but it just reminds me of fall. It was taken in my grandparents back yard and it was 1978 or 1979. By looking at our attire, and the fact that it was at “Nana’s”, I am quite positive it was a holiday, and I’m going to guess Thanksgiving because of the colors. {Although, it could have been for her birthday!}
I guess I could just call and ask her but I don’t want to disturb her. She’s celebrating her 5th 55th birthday with her husband at Disneyland. I think they go every year now …something about wearing a big pin that says “It’s My Birthday” and all the Disney staff wish her a big Disney Happy Birthday when she passes. I’m sure her grin is ear to ear right about now …at least I hope it is.
