When we first moved up the mountain to this peaceful and beautiful little lakeside town of Lake Arrowhead, I worried I wouldn’t find a hair stylist who could color and cut my hair the way I was used to, and thought I’d have to drive back down to LA to get my hair done every 3-4 months or so. But if you’ve been reading my blog for some time, you may know that I am sometimes lazy about maintaining my hair {or anything} unless it’s within a fairly close distance to my house, and the thought of driving to LA just for my hair was headache-inducing.

Needless to say, a few months after we moved up here, my roots were starting to become a problem, and winter was nearly over, which meant I couldn’t get away with wearing a hat to cover them up anymore. So I took a chance at a local salon called Rumors in the village.

I walked in and an adorable girl was sitting behind the front desk wearing a similar pageboy cap to the one I was wearing that day, which was a good sign I thought. I asked her if she knew a stylist who was really good at coloring and highlighting blondes and she said that she was! I booked the appointment for later in the week and after my first appointment had found my new favorite stylist, just minutes away from my house, and I’ve been going to her ever since. Shannon cuts the husband’s hair as well, and always does a fantastic job, I must say!

When you first step into Rumors, it looks quite small in the front, but as you head towards the back, where Shannon’s station and chair sits, it opens up into another room where there is a large sliding glass door that leads to a deck that looks right over the lake and the view is stunning. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s relaxing and peaceful, and in fact, it’s my favorite salon I’ve ever frequented. Many times, if I don’t need to sit under the heat bubble to set my bleach, I get to sit out on the patio for a few minutes while my foils set.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect when Joico asked if I’d like to partner with them in participation of the launch of the new e-commercse site, Loxa Beauty, by getting my hair done with my favorite stylist and using their award winning K-PAK Reconstructor that rebuilds and strengthens, and snapping a selfie of us together, because I was just about to make a hair appointment anyway. I went in last Saturday afternoon for the full treatment.

I asked Shannon to use the Joico K-PAK Reconstructor after washing my hair and the first thing we both noticed was the AMZING SCENT! It was like a banana cream pie and I wanted to eat it! Shannon followed the simple instructions and left it in for five minutes, rinsed and finished with my regular blow-dry. What I loved about the K-PAK Reconstructor was that it didn’t leave my hair greasy, in fact, it left the volume but added shine! Many times products will weigh my hair down and leave it feeling like it needs to be washed again, but this was the complete opposite and I loved it. Now I can use it at home as well in between salon visits for the same fabulous results!
