This was a few months ago, when it was still very much winter here, but for some reason, this post got lost and I forgot to publish it! Until now… & though all photos were taken with my iPhone, I think you get the point. If you’re in the area or live up here, you HAVE to check out Stone Creek Bistro.
I kind of consider this entire area of the mountain we live on as Lake Arrowhead. However, it is actually broken down into a few smaller little towns, like Blue Jay, Cedar Glen, Skyforest, and Agua Fria. But since they’re all literally 5-7 minutes from where we live, I just lump it all into Lake Arrowhead.
Growing up in LA spoiled us when it came to food. As I’m sure anyone who lives in a large city can attest, you can eat out at amazing restaurants any day or night of the week and/or order in just about anything you can imagine as well. And we did. We never cooked -ever. But this is not so much the case living in a small town.
The major upside to this is that we cook most of our meals now rather than eating out, and are eating healthier overall because of it.
We’ve made it a point to try nearly all the restaurants in the area and have already found a few favorites, like Texifornia and Lou Eddie’s Pizza, for instance, and when this little gourmet boutique restaurant opened a few months ago {or maybe it was last Summer?} we’ve been meaning to go check it out ever since.
It’s quaint and cute but modern and hip all wrapped into one. It has an almost French feel…
I,m obsessed with this light fixture. It’s pretty fantastic.
I ordered the tuna appetizer for dinner since we had already filled up on other amazing appetizers {the first photo above are fried mac&cheese balls, which if on the menu anywhere, the husband will order. but I have to admit, there were the best I’ve tasted…
…in addition to the grilled Cesar salad, which was my favorite!
And he ordered the roast beef blue plate special…
And they brought us anchovies on the side as a treat! {I did not eat them, the husband did}
Desserts… Doughnuts and coffee & Banana Pudding…
The check arrived in this adorable book, in a library card pocket, the first few pages littered with signatures and little notes and thank yous… and it was adorable.
OMG So full! And so good!
Definitely check them out if you’re up on the mountain… arrive at around 5pm for dinner without reservations or else call in advance because they fill up quick!
