A springtime fresh tablescape is one of my favorites to pull together, and usually the easiest for me to conceptualize as well. With pretty flowers blooming right in our own backyards and farmer’s markets brimming with bouquets in bright colors to choose from, starting with flowers is the best way to go and an affordable way to upgrade your everyday. I usually look for big bunches that I can pull apart and create little arrangements with as well as fruits in similar or contrasting hues because they make for the perfect pop of color and you can eat them too!
I love mixing old and new elements, as well as rich textures and greenery. A dried moss table liner is one of my favorites for instant texture and greenery, and lends itself so perfectly for spring. Sure it’s a little messy, but it gives the feel of spring gardening right on your tabletop without the actual dirt, of course.
For last minute guests, desserts are my favorite. These yogurt pies are my go-to for spring holidays and general yumminess. With two ingredients and a piecrust, you can whip them up hours before you have to be somewhere. This year I sprinkled on some cute pastel toppings to add a little color, a sweet upgrade for a family favorite.
And no table would be complete without some fabulous tasting wine. Ecco Domani Prosecco is a favorite for daytime ~ this lighter-style Prosecco is refreshing and absolutely perfect for spring. The Pinot Grigio is delicious as well! Crisp and floral, a great complement for this seasonal tablescape.
Chilled wines and tasty desserts are a fabulous way to upgrade everyday but paired with a textured and colorful table display like this one, makes it even more festive and fun.
Here’s What You’ll Need to Create your Spring Table…
- Fresh Flowers // Look for bulky bunches you can trim away from easily
- Dried moss table runners x 2
- River rocks
- Citrus fruits // with leaves if possible
- Small glass containers or vases // repurpose and reuse old glass candle holders
- Large vase
- Fruit bowl
- Tiered pie or cake stands
- Dishes / Napkins / silverware
Quick Steps to Pull it All Together…
Layer and overlap your dried moss table runners down the center of your table, as I have done here.
I liked the ripples and little mounds created by the folds for extra depth and texture, but if you prefer, lay them perfectly flat. If you don’t wish to see the seams, flip them over and tape them together on the underside before bringing them to your table.
NOTE: Open them outside and shake them out first to avoid a major mess in the house.
Using one large vase, I snipped my stems so my large bouquets would just rest in my vase, as if they were too tired to make a bouquet. It just felt a little more relaxed this way.
I grabbed a few tea light vases and snipped a few flowers from the bunch, and scattered them around the table.
I used river rocks to bring in the garden element, as well as the spring feel, and scattered them in pairs of three around the runner. I love the smooth texture against the moss as well as the contrast in color.
The wooden fruit bowl adds another earthy texture next to my vintage blue and white dishes and large crystal glasses… which are probably better for water, but I love breaking the rules when it comes to glassware and Ecco Prosecco is delicious in any vessel!
I grabbed the smallest tangerines with pretty leafy stems and placed them in the center of each place setting for a nice contrast in color.
In the spirit of this relaxed table, I folded my napkins almost messily and set them beneath my dishes on an angle.
I adore this spring table… in fact, it’s one of my favorites and makes the entire house feel chipper and bright!
Pour your delicious Ecco Domani wines and serve your perfectly sweet pastel pies and enjoy this perfect day!
