Places We Store Unwanted Emotions

Places We Store Unwanted Emotions

This reel from @the.gratitude.farm stopped me in my tracks recently and I had to screenshot each text block to really be able to take in the information and then I thought it was so helpful, that I’d share it here, with you! 😊

If we really take the time to listen to our bodies and our bodily reactions to people, situations and even information coming towards us, it’s truly enlightening to see where and why we might be holding onto emotions so tightly (from our past and even present triggers of past wounds) and may give us a glimpse into allowing ourselves to release them accordingly and free ourselves from mental and physical pain.

I don’t have much more to say on the topic so I’ll let the images and words do the talking for me.

Does any of this resonate with you? Can you feel the stress and emotions within your body flare up at certain times?

I know that my anxiety (fear) shows up in my body in many ways – in my stomach (fear), in my chest (hurt and betrayal), in my upper back, neck and shoulders (burdens and responsibilities) – and now that I can pinpoint the emotions tied to the pain, I can work towards releasing little bits of trauma in those areas that I didn’t even know I was holding onto.
