Plum Manicure with Plaid Accent Nails by Jamberry Nail Wraps

Jamberry Nails sent me a fun packet of nail art wrap designs to try out over a month ago but I’ve been giving my nails a rest to rejuvenate. After months of weekly nail art manicures, they start losing their vitality, and begin cracking, and breaking daily, and so I generally like to give them some downtime to recuperate.

However, I have a tentative {and super exciting} meeting Saturday morning in LA and needed a classic but fun/holiday-ish manicure to complement my hands and decided to finally give these Jamberry wraps a try.

Now, I’ve only used one other nail sticker, those from Sephora, and they were mad easy… so easy I did them in the car on the way to Palm Springs and they lasted for like two weeks straight. They also were very thin and immediately looked like actual nail polish on my tips. These, admittedly, were a bit more complicated to get right, and definitely felt a little more like I had stickers on my fingers. But I bet with a little more practice, I’ll have a better technique down. And since I haven’t really tried any other brands, it’s hard to tell if they’re more difficult to use or the same as the others.

I had to heat the stickers up one at a time for application, which I did via my electric floor heater sitting under my desk, and one flopped over on itself and became useless -boo. I found them a bit difficult to trim and file away after application vs the Sephora version that literally peeled off seamlessly and buffed out in seconds with a nail file. But Jamberry Nails have so many cute styles, I wouldn’t want to limit my use just because I’m not great at applying them. I’ll just have to try again.

Saying ALL OF THAT, I actually really LOVE this manicure. The fun plaid nail art wraps are a mix of red and blues, which combine and give off more of a plum color. So I looked for a similar polish in my collection to complement it and went with OPI “Have You Seen My Limo”, which is like a metallic plum, and is really pretty.

I gave my plaid accent nails a tiny French tip just to make them pop AND added my Seche Vite top coat to even the stickered nails to give them all a nice gloss.

My meeting may be cancelled, but my nails look great.
