I wanted to share this amazing house last week, but since it was Easter, I thought I’d wait until this Sunday, today! But since then, it now has a pending offer… and I can totally see why; it’s really cool and the price is fairly reasonable, considering.
Admittedly, I wasn’t familiar with this architect until I caught the listing and read that this house in particular was featured in TIME Magazine. This mid-century dream home was designed and completed in 1968 as a family getaway for the architect and his own family. It’s been upgraded and renovated recently to bring it closest to its original glory, and it is beautifully done and decorated in mid-century perfection with cozy mountain touches in each room.
468 Old Toll Rd, Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352 ~ $595,000
3 beds 2 baths 1,998 sqft
From the listing: The Ferber House circa 1968. Palm Springs architect Michael Black designed this modern architectural mountain home as a getaway for his family in Lake Arrowhead. There are over 100 hundred windows in this three-story home which allow the visitors to view the forest from nearly every room. Many classic elements of mid-century modern design are on display throughout creating a singular environment that is truly befitting of this mountain community. This three bedroom, two bath home can accommodate up to 8 guests. It has a fully equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace, game closet, movies and music, wireless internet and cable tv, washer/dryer, parking for 3 cars, access to two private swim beaches, and offers al fresco dining with an outdoor fireplace on a 600 square foot deck. The Ferber House is located in one of the most convenient areas at the lake just 5 minutes from the water and the town of Blue Jay.
