I’m a few days late and a week behind but I thought I’d share this wonderful little mountain brunch I attended last Wednesday, hosted by Summer Bellessa at her super fabulous, newly renovated, mountain home, The Modern Lodge, here in Lake Arrowhead.
I met Summer at Emily Henderson’s Mountain House Reveal party, which I was so lucky to attend with Michelle Calkins way back in the pre-pandemic days of 2019 and since then, many of the part-time mountainers have moved up full time, which of course, is fabulous because the creative energy is really wonderful and the more like-minds that are here, the more we all can really share in the splendor of it. And I suppose that’s one of the silver linings of 2020, that even more brilliant women have moved up here full time.
And PS. the number of super cool women who have moved up to this mountain in the last few years has grown significantly. I’ve been up here for just over 8 years now and I’m so happy to see so many creative and powerful entrepreneurial minds all in one place. I obviously cannot say enough about this!
ANYWAY… Summer hosted a beautiful brunch with food-too-pretty-to-eat prepared by Sara, Top Town Chef that was as delicious as it was beautiful, a stunning table setting with vintage dishes belonging to Summer’s grandmother and a gorgeous flower arrangement by Wildflowers At The Lake and gifts from @evergreencuratedgoods (this cute little shop I shot an outfit at months ago), which is by far the best scented spray hand-sanitizer I’ve come across.
We chatted about living in the mountains and lake life, business in all aspects, and then of course, just general girl talk… and yet again I cannot express how insanely lucky I am to have found a really amazing group of women up here I can call friends. I’ve always talked about the wonderful community feel on this mountain and a few friends I’ve made along the way, but this sort-of empowered female circle is just icing on the cake. 🙂

Of course I threw on one of 3 of my favorite dresses from Free People that I just cannot seem to stop wearing. It’s just my favorite easy dress to literally wear anywhere, in fact, I’m wearing my black one now as I type this. Between my Lee coveralls (which I wore yesterday to skate in) and these dresses, it’s so obvious I dress for ease and comfort most days 🙂
