Lee Jeans Modern Vintage Quarantine Style

Headin’ into Twilight… Spreadin’ Out Her Wings Tonight

easy fall style in coveralls

What I’m Wearing…

* Army Green Lee Modern Unionalls (coveralls-jumpsuit… also seen here… and here in denim) I size up in these… I wear a Medium – they are still available in a lighter denim wash too. I want them in every single color, just saying 🙂 – also, Dickies makes a pretty cute pair of coveralls for $59 via amazon in 4 different colors.
* Old white bandana
* Checkered Vans
* Mark Jacobs pillow bag
* Barton Perriera sunglasses

* Title: Kenny Loggins – Danger Zone – for obvious reasons 😉 Also, who’s excited about the new Top Gun movie? I AM.

Well Lovecats, we’ve made it to fall! Though we’re still living through the strangest and most challenging year of our lives, we’re making it happen. It’s time to give ourselves a little credit for all that we’ve managed to survive through, take a deep breath and make sure our compassionate voices in our heads overrule the negative and judgmental ones. It takes practice but if we can start saying nice things to ourselves about ourselves even just once a day maybe we can retrain our subconscious little by little.

A week ago I was dreading fall. I didn’t want summer to end. I’ve gotten to experience a lake life summer on a boat that I haven’t yet in all the years I’ve lived up here and it was FUN. Our daily boat adventures felt like little getaways, vacations from the insanity and stress and mask-wearing and political ridiculousness. We were our own little island on the sea (or well, the lake) among other little islands and the energy was magical. I’ll miss it, for sure.

Now, as I sit in my cozy sweatshirt feeling the chill from the open window nearby, fall doesn’t seem so dreadful.

I always feel a surge of creativity come fall and I just hope that I can create some balance and consistency again which has been such a struggle during this year of catastrophe and fear and anxiety and uncertainty.

And with the cooler weather comes the coveralls that I basically live in once it’s too cold for summer dresses. They are so comfortable and cute (I seriously get compliments every time I wear them, though the army green does lend itself to more Top Gun references than mechanic and painter references I get in my denim set) but I don’t wear them for compliments, I wear them for comfort. And if I could live in coveralls for the rest of my days, I certainly would. I think they look cutest with vans or other little sneakers but in the winter I’ve definitely worn them with boots as well.

While I’m not ready for winter and snow and freezing temps, these fall vibes seem to be calming my nerves a little and I can only hope you’re feeling it too… and maybe even the world at large, because let’s face it, we need all the soothing energy we can get right now.
