Teenage ambitions you remember well

What I’m Wearing
* Vintage black dress I found while searching for my Halloween costume at American Vintage a few weeks ago {it was $34}. I’m pretty sure it’s 80’s. I love the waist, the dolman sleeves and the long cascading ruffles.
* Salvatore Ferragamo navy satin pumps
* Two sequined flower pins worn at waist… I think I got these at Urban Outfitters years ago.
* Vintage beaded clutch was my grandma’s
* Wearing gold earrings but you can’t see them… any other accessories just seemed too fussy

* Hair: which is rather short at the moment, waved {though I wrap it around the entire iron now, even over the clamp} and curled.

* Title: lyrics from Asia Heat of the Moment one of my husband’s favorites, lol

This is a closer look + detail of what I wore to the murder mystery bachelorette party

I had originally planned to wear my metallic gold Jerome C. Rousseau heels with a gold belt but when I tried it all on, they just didn’t work. It was then a sort of, mad rush, trying on almost every pair of shoes I own to get it right so I could take my outfit shots before the ladies arrived! This is why you should plan ahead… sometimes the visual of an outfit in your head does not translate in reality {note to self}.

* See the gold Rousseau heels on my dresser? Those were the one’s I thought I was going to wear… though I also tried my royal blue suede Aldo pumps and was going to wear a royal blue skinny belt from Ann Taylor to match – but that combo didn’t work either.

I finally settled on my navy satin Ferragamo pumps {which, of all my designer shoes, are the most comfortable… see them here with my sequined mini dress}. And just to tie in the navy, I pinned on my two navy sequin flower pins which pick up light in the same way the navy satin does.

I grabbed my vintage leopard coat at the last minute to stay warm.

The husband was playing photographer again and grabbed the camera and documented the crazy monster I become while getting ready {the first shot in my dressing room sums that up pretty nicely}, but I didn’t mind because he got some fun shots.

A note about how I get ready: In my robe, I do all my makeup but my mascara. I then curl/wave/do my hair but usually clip the front up to get it out of my face. I then get dressed {as you can see in my dressing room above} and come back to the bathroom, apply mascara, then touch up my hair by curling a few more top strands.

I got a ton of questions and compliments on my midnight and gold glitter manicure which worked with the outfit even though I didn’t go with the gold shoes. Some of the beading in the vintage bag picked up the blue in the shoes and pins as well.

Happy Tuesday!

I can’t not say it 😉
