A little bit of Zebra in my life

Just about every night as of late, I fall asleep decorating our new house in my head. I’m pretty sure I’ve got just about all the rooms done and hopefully soon I’ll get back on my computer and create inspiration boards for each to share with you.

…but the decorating isn’t just left for the moments before I fall asleep …it’s every free moment in my head which has really taken up the space where my head wants to freak out on itself and it’s so refreshing to be using my brain creatively again. There is open space . . . I digress.

I persuaded my husband to give me full use of one of the three bedrooms and turn it into a fabulously glamourous office/dressing area -which I am so excited about. I decided I wanted the color scheme to be mostly white with touches of other colors scattered around …a choice based on three relatively inexpensive modern/simple dressers I already have from Ikea {provided they stay intact through the move}. When lined up side by side, they actually look really great.

I decided I wanted a zebra rug as the focal point which would tie in the modern/vintage glamour feel I was going for …and while I love the shape of an authentic zebra {rug} I could never in a million years bring myself to buy an animal skin …which I’m pretty sure would bring me to tears every time I look at it not to mention stand/sit on it.

So I randomly logged onto gilt.com a couple nights ago and clicked “home”. The first sale that popped up was for nuLOOM rugs {mostly known for Flokati} …and all the way at the bottom, what did I find? Fabulous zebra rugs for half the original price. I love gilt.com! So I bought the round one below …and I think it’s perfect for the space.

…and the sale is still going on …go to gilt.com “home” to see the rest.

Oh I cannot wait to move!
