Dear Coward Anonymous from the global warming post,

While I’ve been riding the “Eco” bandwagon for some time now, far before it was trendy actually, I’ve also been posting about environmental issues long before posting about fashion or “whining about {my} anxiety and/or biological clock”. I’m pretty sure as far as the government is concerned, we know nothing at all of what really goes on and we never will. When I find any clues that may or may not peek inside areas of political debate, I think everyone would also benefit from any information on either side. Thus, people can make up their own minds about what they think and choose to believe in. So while I respect that you have an opinion on the topic {which I’m pretty sure I left open to discussion}, did you think it was necessary to attack my character? Probably not. So I suggest you go suck a dick.

You look fabulous, darling! Outfit could probably use a splash of color (a red necklace, maybe?), but still looks amazing!

  • Da Fashionista

    January 6, 2010 |

love a turtleneck under a dress! and thanks for validating my growing interest in stirrups. I thought I was bonkers.

p.s. yay to telling off the anonymous douchebag. being a coward and saying shitting things on a personal blog is sooooo 2009 😉

  • Caroline, No.

    January 6, 2010 |

Awesome outfit. Love the stirrup tights too, I was just missing my ski pants from the 80s the other day – I’m off to raid AA.

  • Ditte

    January 6, 2010 |

That hat plus the curls gives it a 1940’s feel. Ýou look gorgeous..

  • Kay*

    January 6, 2010 |

LOVE that you told off that anon. Literally made me say “Yeah!”

  • Kirsten

    January 6, 2010 |

I am thinking there are some crappy people in the blog world since Miss Liz took a hit to her blog too. Boo

  • Mary

    January 6, 2010 |

well said, maegan. what an (anon) d bag.

  • Jacqueline

    January 6, 2010 |

Wow Maegan, I love the sunglasses with the slouch beret. Very french chic. I also adore that new bag. It is gorgeous. What a great father in law you have. Great job telling off that anon. We all get them on our blogs and they can be very cruel. All the best to you Maegan and I hope you visit my blog again soon.xoxo

    You’re just awesome, Miss Maegan!!

  • Vee

    January 6, 2010 |

That person is so ridiculous for saying what he/she said. If you’re gonna write something grow a pair and leave your name as well and dont be a secretive douchbag.

This is your blog and you can write what you very damn-well please.

    You look lovely.

  • J-Diggety

    January 6, 2010 |

You know what I find hilarious about hater comments?? ALL of them are left by “Anonymous”, on every blog I’ve ever read. One, if the blog you’re reading annoys you, you have the power within you to not read it. Two, yes everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if it opposes the opinion of the blog you are reading, and yes you are entitled to sharing it, but how about with some maturity and without stooping to lows with personal attacks??? These hating “anonymous” posters are completely pathetic. If you have something to say, say it, but stand up next to your opinion like a big boy or girl without hiding behind “Anonymous”.

“French chic” is the perfect description of this outy!

    xoxo J

P.S. Those Prada slingbacks are HOT! I’d prefer them in black, myself, as I’m too pale to wear nude… IMO 😉

  • Dream Sequins

    January 6, 2010 |

I wish I could go bare toes in New York right now. You look fabulous!

  • Life is Reed-iculous!

  • AspiringFashionista

    January 6, 2010 |

YAY! I’ve missed the outfit posts!

That zebra dress is so fabulous! I love that you’ve layered it and confirmed that people really do that. I wore a dress over a turtleneck yesterday and my hubs asked why I was wearing a jumper. Now I can just show him this!

And way to go for telling off the anon coward. Don’t let d-bags get you down!

  • Phoebe

    January 6, 2010 |

  • Manda

    January 6, 2010 |

ps: I gasped when I opened this because i went for the all black look myself today: black boots, black tights, black pencil skirt, black and white sweater. lol!

  • Amy

    January 6, 2010 |

You tell them, girl! I don’t get people who feel the need to give you their unnecessary opinion on something that has nothing to do with the other. It will always amaze me.

Anyways, I am in love with this outfit. That zebra dress is lovely and you pull it off so well and those shoes…those shoes are my favorite part! Beautifully done!

  • Megan

yikes! i’m so sorry you’ve gotten some rude readers. i wish no one was able to post under “anonymous.” you’re right. it is very cowardly.

Love the bag and I think that the stirrup tights look awesome with those shoes. And now you have me lusting over those Prada shoes and Tom Ford glasses.

I think the first post I read of yours was one of your “my beliefs” posts, so I know you’ve got depth. I love your site and what you write about, from your anxiety to your shoes.

Glad to see an outfit post! Excited about more design posts too!

Love, love, love your outfit. I love your response to the ever so cowardly reader. I had some fantastic loser post absolutely rude/harsh remarks on my page and I addressed them the exact same way.

  • Cyn

    January 6, 2010 |

    Love the blog, Maegan.

While I’m still leaning towards global warming, I still watched the vid from your previous post and it definitely made me think. Capitalism is going to find a way to make a buck any way it can.

But politics aside, you said what you thought in a non-confrontational way. And Anonymous was a real ass about the way they replied. I whole-heartedly approve of the big middle-finger you just waved at her. Not only could Anonymous not back up her opinions with any sort of reason, but she then had to go for a personal attack- how very, very bitchy.

    January 6, 2010 |

You are awesome. I’m a long time reader and I think bloggers are way too tolerant of a-hole commenters. Especially ones who didn’t properly read the post, or the other comments and then start throwing their weight around.

Open mindedness is under rated. I agree with everything you said about the environment. We are over saturated with information and it’s difficult to find a politcal stance amongst it all.

    That commenter can blow goats.

    Rock on.

  • Sluff

    January 6, 2010 |

OMGosh when i went back & read that comment I was completely disgusted! A blog isn’t just the author speaking, it’s the interaction within the community between the author’s words & the readers’ comments. You asked us for advice, and we willing responded. That’s why you spoke about things like your anxiety. For help. NOT to be whining. Don’t stop, we love helping you & reading your thoughts, even if they don’t pertain to fashion.

    January 7, 2010 |

Been a quiet fan for awhile, but I just had to comment on you telling that coward to shove it.
    Go you!
Also, I love your honesty. First with your body stats and now with your personal issues. That is so brave, I truly envy your ability to put yourself out there.

  • Chessa!

    January 7, 2010 |

People who leave anon comments are douche bags. How big of a puss are you that you have to say something rude and hide behind the cloak of anonymity? Like anyone gives a sh*t who you are. I respect other people’s opinion and welcome that sort of dialogue but not when they don’t even have the balls to show who they are and definitely not when they start attacking the person (ie. you) for your character or what you choose to share. Loser.
